Marrakech / Marraekch
8:00 Am
Our driver will meet you at the airport and you will have the rest of the day free to relax while you see the main square, Jemaa el Fnaa, and the souks on your own.
Our 7 day excursion from Marrakech will start around 08:30 from Marrakech to the Dades Gorges, crossing the famous Tizi N’Tichka pass with far-reaching views across the mountains, to the High Atlas and Berber villages, before continuing to the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, where you will have lunch at a local restaurant near the Kasbah.
After a delicious breakfast, return to the valley to explore the amazing rock structure known as “the monkey’s fingers” and the Kasbah of Ait Yul, a kasbah from the 19th century. We will then leave the Dades valley and head towards Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, crossing magnificent landscapes with ancient Berber clay villages overlooking the canyon.
Arriving at the Todra Gorges, we will walk along the 300m high red cliff, where many climbers come to practice their sport.
We will continue to Erfoud for lunch before driving to the beautiful dunes of Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga.
Upon arrival, an experienced camel driver will be ready for us to start the camel ride and discover the stunning rolling dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will be able to relax, watch the sunset and practice sandboarding.
Afterwards, stay in a classic nomadic Berber-style tent before spending the night under the stars in a well-equipped desert camp. You will enjoy a fantastic meal as well as a musical feast around the fire.
Our 7 days trip from Marrakech continues. After showering and breakfast at the desert camp, you will set off by camel back to the starting point to meet your driver and begin your journey of discovery of the Merzouga area, which includes a visit to the wild lake of Merzouga, home to groups of migratory birds such as flamingos.
Not far from the area, there is a village where almost all its citizens are dark-skinned people who came from sub-Saharan Africa to learn about Gnawa music and culture. We will stop in Mifis, a small empty village known for its lead and mineral mines, on our way to a nomadic home.
Dinner will be provided at the hotel where you will spend the night.
After breakfast in the desert, our next destination is Ouarzazate by a different route through the Atlas Berber tribes of Alnif, Agdz, and the Draa Valley. Until the afternoon when we arrive in Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight in a nearby riad.
The next day, we will leave Ouarzazate in the morning for Marrakech, our last stop after visiting the studios, crossing the High Atlas Mountains over the highest road pass in Morocco, the Tizi N Tichka Pass, which offers spectacular views of rivers, mountains and several nearby Berber villages, and arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon.
