This 6 days trip through the Fez desert to Marrakech will allow you to get to know the beautiful southern region of Morocco. “Great Hidden South” trips are a great way to learn more about the region’s stunning landscapes, ancient Kasbahs and communities.
There will also be time to visit the cinema museum, where renowned films such as “Gladiator” were shot, and to get to know the Khamlia village of dark-skinned people, where they will demonstrate their African rhythms. We will also make an excursion to Erg Chebbi, where we will meet nomadic villages and we will travel numerous trails in 4×4.
Fez / Marrakech

On your 6-day trip from Fes to Marrakech via the Sahara of Merzouga, we will pick you up at your hotel/riad in Fes for an amazing guided tour of Fes in an air-conditioned car with a multilingual local guide.
First, our tour of Fez will include: the mosque of Andalusia, built at the end of the 9th century, which has tanning rooms where leather is created using only natural colors. The Madrasa El-Attarine, built in 1325, is the largest religious mosque in the medina.
In addition, non-Muslims can visit Azouia Moulay Idriss, the Nejjarine Museum, the Royal Palace and the Bab Boujloud Gate. We will not be able to finish our tour until we have seen the most important monuments. Finally, we will drop you off at your hotel/riad in Fez.
We’ll leave Fez for Midelt after breakfast. We will pass through Ifrane, a tourist complex created entirely in Moroccan style by the French in the 1930s. Then we’ll go to the cedar forest of Azrou to see the monkeys.
Most of our journey from Fez to Midelt will take us through beautiful forests, springs and Berber villages… We will arrive in Midelt at the end of our trip and check into a hotel/riad for (dinner/night).
After breakfast, we will start our 6-day visit from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga and the dunes of Erg Chebbi, starting in Midelt and ending in Marrakech. We will stop regularly along the way to take pictures, enjoy the fresh air, the panoramic views and contemplate a large oasis of palm trees.
Upon arrival in Merzouga, we will look for a hotel/riad for (dinner/night).
We will leave the next day to visit the village of KHAMLIA and listen to Gnawa music. Then we’ll see disused mines, nomadic Berbers and an oasis of palm trees…
Return to Merzouga to eat and rest a little. In the afternoon, we will take a dromedary ride through the sand dunes. We will spend the night in a well equipped camp with drum music. This excursion through the Moroccan Sahara desert is an excellent opportunity to photograph the sunset and sunrise.
During this period, we will discover the mysteries of the Sahara and its endless views. Overnight in (nomadic Berber shops).
Wake up early, walk through the sand dunes to watch the sunrise, then return to the hotel for a shower, breakfast and relaxation.
Then we will take the route that leads to the Gorges. Stop in Rissani to discover: the ancient monument of Sijilmassa, important center of desert trade, and the Kasbahs (fortifications of the villages). Then, after touring the Ziz valley and the gorges, we will take a short walk through the Todra gorges to contemplate the beauty of the rivers and mountains.
Finally, we will arrive in Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight in a riad or a traditional Kasbah.
After breakfast, we will travel to Ouarzazate to see the Kasbah of Taourirt and the film studio Atlas Studios.
From here, we will travel to the Oasis of Fint, located near Ouarzazate. We will then travel the Tizi-n-Tichka route, stopping for lunch along the way, and arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, when our 6-day excursion from Fez to Marrakech through the Sahara desert comes to an end.
