Take plеasurе on this trip about a 10 days Morocco tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. We will start our journey from Marrakech to the Sahara desert in southern Morocco and end in Tangier. En route, we will pass through the district of Mеrzouga and discover many beautiful places, such as the Atlas Mountains and its impressive traditional buildings.

Then go to the ancient Kasbah of Ait Bеn Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a long history. We will also see the Gorgе Todra and the magnificent Rosе and Dadеs valleys. Finally, we will ride through the Saharan desert of Erg Chеbbi to enjoy the radiant sunshine. Finally, spend a wonderful night under a starry sky in the desert camp (tеnts of Bеrbеr).

Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival in Marrakech:

Your first day begins at the airport in Marrakech. A short visit of the city. You will then be driven to a Riad for overnight and dinner.

Day 2 :Marrakech - Essaouira:

After breakfast, we will head west towards Essaouira. We will stop along the way to admire the argan trees, goats and panoramic views. We arrive in Essaouira, formerly Mogador, one of Morocco’s most prominent coastal towns. In this episode, we will visit the fishing port, the historic ramparts with cannons and the old medina. Overnight in Essaouira.

Day 3 :Essaouira - Guided sightseeing tour of Marrakech:

After breakfast, we will return to Marrakech to explore the highlights of Marrakech with a native guide. The city is considered one of the imperial cities of Morocco. The itinerary includes visits to the Bahia Palace, the Saadi Tombs and the Koranic Ben Youssef Mosque. You will also stroll through the largest traditional souk in Morocco. Lunch break at the Jemaa El-Fna square. Later, you will visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech, as well as the Majorelle Garden. Finally, head to your hotel. You will have free time to explore the Jemaa El-Fna square on your own.

Day 4:Marrakech - High Atlas - Kasbah of Telouat - Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate:

We will pick you up at your accommodation in Marrakech shortly after breakfast. We will then drive into the impressive High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi-N-Tichka pass. There will be breaks to enjoy the breathtaking views. We will then head to the Kasbah of Telouat.

Then we will go to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. It is a fortified village declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Kasbah has also appeared in several movies, such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy and others. As well as in TV shows such as Game of Thrones. Then continue to Ouarzazate, known as “the gateway to the desert”. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.

Day 5:Ouarzazate - Valley of Roses - Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga Desert - Overnight in a luxury bivouac:

After breakfast, we will go to the Atlas Studio, where many great movies are produced. Visit also the Kasbah of Taourirt, in Ourzazate. Then, in Skoura, travel southeast to see the palm-fringed Kasbah of Amridil. Then head to the Valley of the Roses. In May, a Rose Festival is held where residents sell their rose products. We will then travel through the Dades Valley, stopping to take in the breathtaking scenery of the Dades Gorges. We will then drive to the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has cut a great canyon of red cliffs through the mountains. Lunch will be at the house. Feel free to walk around the gorges and enjoy the scenery.
We will arrive in the afternoon in Merzouga, in the Sahara desert. You will be transferred by camels to cross the arid desert. You will be taken to the top of a high dune to witness the breathtaking sunset. You will then continue to the desert camp. Here you can dance around a bonfire under a starry sky while listening to Berber drum music. Dinner and rest at the camp.

Day 6Explore the region of Merzouga - Nomads - Khamlia - Lake Merzouga - Erg Chebbi - palm grove:

If you want to contemplate the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert, you must get up early. It is not necessary to have breakfast. Then you return by camel to Merzouga, where the driver is waiting for you. We propose to spend the day touring Merzouga. In the region there are dunes, natural lakes, mines, fossil deposits and a magnificent oasis. They are ideal for various outdoor activities.
We will drive off-road to an old mine of delineators. Then we will visit the nomads in their hand-woven tent. We will learn about their way of life while having a cup of Berber tea. The village of Khamlia is our next stop, where you will attend Gnaoua music and dance performances. Its inhabitants come from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan and Niger. Lunch in a restaurant is optional. Afterwards, we will take a walk through a palm forest. Then, we will drive a few kilometers to visit the wild lake of Merzouga, also known as Lake of the Flamingos. Dinner and overnight in a hotel room.

Day 7:Merzouga dunes - Erfoud - Midelt - cedar forest - Ifrane - Fez:

After breakfast, we leave the desert to explore the city of Rissani, historical capital of Tafilalet. Rissani, with its busy souk, is an important commercial center of the area. We will travel to Erfoud after visiting one of the fossilized marble workshops in the Rissani souk.
Afterwards, we will travel along the Ziz River, pausing to take in the views. Lunch in Midelt. Then we move to the cedar forest, home of the Barbary macaques. You can feed them while exploring the forest. Then we head to Ifrane, which has become famous for its low temperatures, snow and alpine-style residences. No wonder it is known as the Switzerland of Morocco. Finally, we will drop you off at your accommodation in Fez.

Day 8:Guided tour of Fez:

After breakfast, we will pick you up at your hotel in Fez to tour the city. Besides being the cultural and religious center of Morocco, the city is considered one of the imperial cities.
We will start the day by visiting the Royal Palace, also known as Bab Boujloud, which leads to the ancient Medina. Upon entering the Medina, you will be accompanied by a local guide. You will see the Bouanania Madrasa, the Najjarine fountain, the Tanneries and finally the mosque and the Quaraouin University, the oldest in the world. We will then leave the Medina to visit the Jewish quarter known as “el Mellah”. Then we will go to a medieval fortress with wide views over the Medina of Fez and the city. Afterwards, return to your riad.

Day 9:Fez - Meknes - Ruins of Volubilis - Chefchaouen:

After a walk, we will head to Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of the royal cities. We will explore Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani pond, the Royal Stables and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Lunch at the riad or at the hotel. We will then drive 30 km from Meknes to see the ancient Roman walls of Volubilis, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as a historic ensemble of arches and arcades.
After visiting the ruins, we head north through Ouazzane to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. The city is known as the Blue City. In addition to its blue painted houses and streets, we spend the night in a hotel.

Day 10:Transfer to Tangier airport:

Depending on the time of your flight, after breakfast. You will have free time to stroll through the charming narrow streets of the blue city. Then we will drive through the Rif Mountains to Tangier International Airport. The 10-day trip to Marrakech has come to an end.
